TAX EXECUTIVE

Innovation Tax are looking for a Tax Executive to assist with the Corporation Tax functions within our rapidly expanding business. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to learn about the specialist areas of corporation tax and join a highly experienced team.

Responsibilities

Your primary duties will comprise;

  • Becoming the primary client point-of-contact with partner accountancy firms
  • Reviewing amended corporation tax computations and corporation tax returns to ensure R&D, Patent Box and Capital Allowance claims have been incorporated in line with current legislation.
  • Supporting the technical R&D claim specialists with tax technical queries
  • Visiting Innovation Tax clients as part of a consulting team to conduct technical interviews and gather financial information for R&D, Patent Box and Capital Allowance claims
  • Reviewing changes to legislation which may impact on the Innovation Tax product offering
  • Assist marketing efforts through tax technical content creation
  • Reviewing claims as part of a rigorous quality control process
  • Offering support to more senior members of the team
  • Working with Innovation Tax clients to implement record keeping tools
  • Work with the client acquisition team to develop claim methodologies

AIM

To take responsibility for liaison with external partners in regard to the submitting of innovation tax claims to HMRC.

LOCATION

This is an office-based role in our Hatfield premises, although there will be opportunities to work from home on occasion or to be in attendance at client sites as part of our consulting team.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES

  • We are looking for someone who is working towards the relevant tax or accounting qualifications, i.e. ATT/CTA
  • Ability to manageworkloads and effectively prioritise tasks
  • Excellent telephone and written skills
  • Ability to build a good rapport with clients, their accountants and the rest of the team
  • Wants to learn about the niche product offering from Innovation Tax and the impact these products have on general Corporation Tax compliance.

Between £22,000 – £28,000 p.a. subject to experience and qualifications

CLIENT SERVICE EXECUTIVE

We are looking for a Client Service Executive to take ownership of a client portfolio within our rapidly expanding business.

Responsibilities

Your primary duties will comprise;

  • becoming the primary client point-of-contact
  • requesting ad-hoc information from clients and their accountants
  • arranging client site meetings for our Claim Analysts to conduct technical interviews
  • regularly liaising with Claim Analysts to ensure claims are on track and keeping clients informed of progress
  • assisting with finalisation of claim reports, ensuring compliance with internal presentation guidelines
  • sending completed reports to clients for approval and managing the HMRC submission process
  • provision of ad-hoc sales- and marketing-related administration

Aim

To manage the claims process through the various stages and ensure that our vigorous standards and timescales are strictly observed in all client engagements.

Essential Competencies

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role e.g. administrator, secretarial, coordinator
  • Ability to manage workloads and effectively prioritise tasks
  • Excellent telephone and written manner
  • Ability to build a good rapport with clients, their accountants and the rest of the team
  • Good knowledge and experience of MS Office
  • Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction

Preferred competencies

  • Basic awareness of company administration processes as administered by Companies House and HMRC
  • Familiarity with the typical contents of a set of company accounts

Between £21,000 – £26,000 p.a. subject to experience.

TECHNICAL R&D CLAIM SPECIALIST

We are looking for diligent and enthusiastic Technical R&D Claim Specialists to help service our ever-expanding client base. You will be the ‘Face of Innovation Tax’, meeting clients at their premises to conduct technical interviews and compiling their R&D Tax Credit claim reports.

Responsibilities

Your primary duties will comprise;

  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the prevailing R&D Tax Credit scheme legislation
  • Adequately researching the clients business activities and to identify how these interface with the legislation
  • Conducting interviews with the clients’ technical staff to identify areas of compliant technical activities
  • Obtaining documented evidence of expenditure incurred in undertaking these activities
  • Compiling a fully-robust technical and financial justification using our established report format
  • Identifying opportunities to cross-sell other services provided by Innovation Tax

Aim

To compile concise and robust R&D Tax Credit claim reports for submission to HMRC, in accordance with prevailing scheme legislation and to pre-defined timescales.

Essential Competencies

  • An ability to learn & articulate the prevailing R&D Tax Credit legislation to clients from different business sectors
  • A natural ability to engage with clients and to extract evidence, both technical and financial
  • A proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • A proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
  • A self-starter, able to work to pre-defined timescales, through good time-management and planning skills

Preferred Competencies

  • A working background in either engineering, manufacturing or software development sectors
  • A sound understanding of the scheme legislation (full training will be provided)
  • A familiarity with the contents of a typical set of company accounts

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Client Engagement Manager to help grow our client base. You will be at the forefront in representing the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy.

Responsibilities

Your primary duties will comprise:

  • Developing a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Consistently engaging with a minimum of 3 new clients per month
  • Conducting research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arranging business meetings with prospective clients
  • Preparing sales contracts ensuring adherence to rules and guidelines
  • Keeping records of sales pipeline
  • Building long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Creating and developing new business opportunities.
  • Creating a referral network of Partners, Accountants and Introducers
  • Representing the business at exhibitions and seminars

To drive sustainable financial growth through new sales and building strong relationships with clients

Essential Competencies

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word

Preferred competencies

  • Proven working experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Executive or similar role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Minimum of 2 years B2B sales experience
  • A good understanding of the R&D scheme (full training will be provided)
